Real Wedding: Jodee + Alex’s Rustic Wedding Stationery

wedding stationery TD17

Burlap and kraft paper. I’m in crafting heaven.

Jodee and Alex were married this past weekend and what a lovely affair it was.

Leading up to the nuptials I had the honor of creating their wedding stationery.  The wedding featured burlap textiles and khaki tones with soft pink accents all in a gorgeous outdoor setting complete with my very favorite flower: baby’s breath.

So much fun it was to be a part of their special day, from planning the details, making their stationery, celebrating at her bridal shower, partying during the bachelorette weekend, coordinating on the day of, and most of all, standing at her side as they said “I do.”

I can’t wait to see their photos to relive the day with them over and over, but for now we can enjoy the stationery.

Navy + Gold Chevron and Arrow Wedding Invitations

You remember Katie’s gorgeous bridal shower invites, right?  Well today I’m sharing her amazing wedding invitations and I’m drooling over here!

Navy and gold is a classic combo, then paired with chevron and arrows, you’ve got quite the masterpiece.  Katie is so in tune with the details in her design style, she didn’t miss a beat.  Thick cardstock and letterpress bring the whole package together just right.

March National Craft Month + Katie’s Bridal Shower Invitations

Did you know March is National Craft Month?

This is a great time to get started on all those DIYs you pinned and even come up with some of your own projects.  I don’t think it’s coincidence this comes alongside all that spring cleaning either.  Take some time to go through those storage closets full of random things (yes, I’m sure you have at least one spot like this!).  You never know what treasures you might find to beautify, de-clutter and craft up your space.  Let’s get our creative mojos going!

Throughout the month, I’ll be sharing my newest DIYs.  You can look forward to at least a craft per week.  This is going to be a challenge, but a fun one!

We’re going to start this crafty month off with a bang and something that’s close to my heart.  One of my best friends is getting married next month and in honor of the special day, she of course had a lovely bridal shower which was an absolute blast!  Being the artist that she is, Katie insisted on making the invites.  Since she knows how crafty I am, she enlisted my help putting them together.

We had such a fun day shopping at Paper Source and I even got to help her pick out a veil at her wedding dress accessories fitting.  We headed home and got to work cropping, cutting, folding, and tying.

The color combo is fabulous, don’t you just love it?  And I adore the design she created for the invite itself.

Wedding Stationery Product Page Now Live!

This should have been done many months ago, but it wasn’t, so here it is now!

Since I don’t currently list my wedding stationery in my online shop, I’ve put an information page together with details and contact information for brides-to-be looking for handmade wedding stationery.

There you will find a breakdown of what I currently offer, a few samples, a link to my vendor profile at 100 Layer Cake, and more!

If you’re a bride-to-be or know someone who is, please check out this page and pass it along.  I would love to get to know you and if you’re local, we can meet for coffee (or tea) to go over all the fun details!

Rustic Wedding Invitations

I recently had the pleasure of working with my first bride-to-be creating wedding invitations!  It was so heartwarming to know she truly appreciates my craft and she was patient with me as we worked out the kinks together, since this was my first time, ya know. [Insert cheeky-smile here.] It also helped that we had been roommates for a year during college so I wasn’t nervous at our coffee meetup to discuss all the details.

After checking out my online shop, she mentioned she really adores this style.

So we took that inspiration, made it a bit larger and out came a wedding invitation! Her colors are shades of blue paired with soft yellow.  Here are some photos of my samples I made with different patterned papers.  The first one has the pattern she chose.  As you can see from some of the others, the ivory ribbon gets a little lost, so we chose the tan ribbon for hers, which goes nicely with the top printed layer.

And here’s the packaging.  I’m so glad I was able to be there when she opened the box and saw them (finished) for the first time! So rewarding.

Do you have a wedding coming up or know a friend who does and are still in need of some stationery? I welcome custom orders and would love to sit down for coffee or tea if your in the area.  Please email me directly at:  Someday soon I hope to have these samples up online at Tiffany Lane Creations, too!

DIY Bridal Shower

I recently helped put together and host a kitchen inspired bridal shower for a dear family friend who loves to bake and loves bling! Her favorite color is eggplant purple and her wedding colors were eggplant and silver.  We did as many DIY extras as we could and tried to make it as personal and special as possible. The mom-in-law and sister-in-law and I had a blast preparing the menu, putting together the decor and taste testing all 7 of the home baked mini cupcakes! Here’s a peak at the party (and please don’t mind some of the photos, lighting was a little bit of an issue for picture taking!):

[You can’t tell in the photo, but the love banner is silver on a purple backing with rhinestones strung on purple ribbon hung to see as you walk in the front door to the shower.]

[The game prizes were these Rosemary Infused Salt Favors.]

[I love the mini clothespins! Found them at Joanns and spray painted them silver.]

[Everyone had drink markers, but the bride-to-be’s was extra special with a purple backing and more rhinestones!]

[Some of our finger foods!]

[The food tablescape.]

[We also had cookies and cream, yum!]

[The cupcake tablescape.]

And for an extra special touch, we had all the guests send in favorite family recipes and we compiled a cookbook for the bride-to-be (we handed out copies as favors for all the guests, too)!  I don’t have a photo of the actual cookbook (I failed at picture taking on many accounts this time).  But here is what the cover looks like:

Have you ever hosted a bridal shower and what DIY’s did you do?  I would love to see pictures and hear your fabulous ideas!

UPDATE: below are some photos that didn’t make it into the original post: the invitation, love banner and thank you cards.
