Featuring: Kraft and Jute

I got an email this morning from someone inquiring about working together on some packaging.  I know that’s a little vague, but I can’t share any details just yet.

Anyway, this person brought to my attention a wonderful place online: Kraft and Jute.  So why didn’t I already know about this? I must live under a rock.

They have so many lovely items, but some things that really stand out to me are their stitched products, like business cards, print sleeves and pocket folders.  I’ve never been much into sewing, but have always loved stitching on paper.  Pair that with kraft paper and I’m sold!

This would be a dream come true for a bride-to-be in love with all things burlap and kraft.  Gosh, I wish I had found this site while planning our wedding!

Another bonus? Their kraft card stocks are 100% recycled and “waste from product development is also either reused in new product creations or recycled with our suppliers,” according to their Naked promise.

Go check it out and let me know what you think.  What’s your favorite? I know I can’t wait to have an excuse to get my hands on those lovelies.

Wedding: Kailyn + Jeremy’s Gorgeous Backyard Nuptials

Yay, they’re finally here!  I’ve got the wedding photos from Kailyn and Jeremy’s lovely celebration.  You may remember K+J from their engagement photos.

The rustic-vintage inspired nuptials took place in the backyard of Kailyn’s grandparent’s home here in Southern California and they didn’t spare a detail, as you’ll see below.  I love the attention to detail: frayed burlap on the ring bearer pillow, mini moss covered candle holders, photo frames at each table each with a different picture, mason jars with candles hanging from the trees, custom handmade garlands. Gosh the list goes on!  Doesn’t it belong in a magazine?

FROM THE BRIDE

What was your most memorable moment of the day?
I think I would have to say the first look! it was such a special moment to see Jeremy before the ceremony and the craziness.

What was the inspiration behind all those gorgeous details?
I love anything vintage and purple. I wanted it to be very simple but still elegant and classy. I used Etsy as my inspiration but put my own twist on the decorations. I wanted to use the whole backyard wedding theme in the decorations.

Any advice for future brides-to-be?
Relax and breathe and enjoy the day. Take in the little moments because they go by so fast!

If you remember, we attended this lovely wedding and had an amazing time.  One of my favorite parts was Jeremy’s dad playing his guitar and singing “God Gave Me You” while the couple took communion.  So lovely.

Thanks to Sarah K Chen Photography for the amazing shots and a huge thanks again to the lovely couple for sharing their day with us.

Engagement: Kailyn + Jeremy

Kailyn and Jeremy are an adorable couple and wonderful people too!  The hubby and I met them a few months ago in our life group through RockHarbor and the group wouldn’t be the same without them.

They married back in August and I can’t wait to share the wedding photos.  Remember when I said I got that spur of inspiration from a recent wedding to finally make my burlap garland? It was their wedding, but we’ll both have to be patient to see the wedding photos and I’ll share as soon as I get them!

And while the wedding was absolutely adorable, so were their engagement photos. A first session was shot here in SoCal and a second up in Jeremy’s home town of Gilroy, with portions shot on his grandfather’s working farm and some around town.

Gilroy:

A big thanks to our friends, the bride and groom, for sharing their story and a shout out to Lindsay & Co. Photography for the amazing photos.  Check out their blog for additional engagement photos: SoCal and Gilroy.

P.S. Keep an eye out for the wedding photos in a couple of months!

UPDATE: check out the wedding photos here!

Inspiration: The Countryside

So much of my creative inspiration comes from photographs.  They get my creative juices flowing. I absolutely adore the countryside and would love to someday live on a ranch style property with horses, huge oak trees, dirt road driveway, wildflowers, a barn, little ones running around.  But even if that doesn’t happen, I will enjoy what we have been blessed with and admire lovely photographs of the dream.

red barn
wildflowers
chestnut horse
countryside pathway
countryside solitude
country picnic
just married
summer cherries
misty rolling hills
country field wildflowers
dirt road
cowgirl boots

I hope these give you inspiration, too.  What gets your creative juices flowing?
